With average temperatures around 15 degrees cooler than the coast, our location in Kula provides a refreshing escape from the tropical sun and a gentle respite from Maui’s constant winds. You’ll be surrounded by the tranquil slopes of Haleakalā, offering a blend of natural serenity and easy access to the island’s world-renowned ocean adventures.

Our Story
My name is Shep Nelson, the proud owner of Kaikea Farms. I’m a lifelong waterman and enthusiast, passionate about sharing the beauty and thrill of Maui’s ocean culture. From surfing and foiling to stand-up paddling and outrigger canoeing, I’ve spent years exploring every wave, current, and coastline. One of the greatest joys of opening our Ohana to guests is the chance to introduce them to the island’s vibrant water sports community and connect them with experiences they’ll never forget.
For those seeking adventure, I offer guided sessions down the legendary Maliko Run, known as the ultimate downwind paddle route in the world. Whether you’re a seasoned waterman or just starting out, we can craft a personalized experience that allows you to embrace Maui’s natural beauty and rich traditions.
We look forward to welcoming you into our family, sharing stories over sunsets, and helping you create unforgettable memories during your stay at Kaikea Farms.
